About
This is a family practice with an abundance of experience, eager to continue to deliver a high standard of medical care to todays family. The Practice is also involved in Occupational Medicine Assessments, Diabetic and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Clinics, training of Medical Doctors for General Practice, medical students and clinical trials.

Dr. Jane Dorman
MB BCh NUI, DCH DObs, MRCGP, MICGP, L.A.R.C.
Family planning certificate, Diploma in Cardiovascular Prevention in primary care setting. L.F.O.M (Licentiate in occupational medicine) 2014
Dr Jane Dorman graduated from Galway University in 1981. She went on to train in her chosen specialty General Practice.
She has obtained further post graduate qualifications in Family Planning, Cardiovascular Prevention in Primary Care, Diploma in L.A.R.C – Long Acting Reversible Contraception and Occupational Health.
Dr Jane joined her father’s practice in Practice 1986.
Special interests are Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Management, Psychiatry, Occupational Health and Women’s Health.

Dr. Aine Waters
MB Bch BAO MICGP DOWH
Aine graduated from NUIG in 2012. She completed the Galway GP Scheme in 2018 and has been working as a GP since in Galway, Dublin, Cork, Australia and Sligo.
She was awarded fellowship of the RACGP in Australia in 2023 and worked as a GP in Melbourne before returning to settle down in Sligo. Aine enjoys all aspects of medicine and has a particular interest in Women's health, Contraception and Paediatrics.
She has obtained Post graduate qualifications in the following:
Certificate in Contraception ICGP
Diploma in Women's Health RCPI
Successful completion of 'Melanoma and Other Skin Cancers' Course- The Australian College of Dermatologists.

Dr. Olwyn Devins
MB BCh BAO BA MRCGP DME
Olwyn graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2000. She then completed her General Practice training in Wales in 2004.
She returned to her hometown of Sligo in 2009 and joined Dorman Family Practice in 2022.
She has a special interest in Medicine for the Elderly, Bone Health and Palliative Care medicine.

Dr. Katherine Edwards
MB BCH BAO MRCPI MICGP
Katherine graduated from UCD in 2014. She subsequently worked in hospital medicine in Australia before returning to Ireland and attaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
She gained experience working in the specialties of Dermatology and Psychiatry, before starting GP training. She then completed the four year vocational GP training scheme in the Dublin Mid-Leinster region.
She has worked as a GP in both Dublin and Sligo for the last number of years. Katherine also works as a Clinical Tutor for medical students in Sligo University Hospital. Katherine enjoys all aspects of medicine and has a particular interest in Women's Health, Dermatology and Mental Health.
Additional qualifications are as follows:

UCD Professional Certificate in Clinical Dermatology
ICGP Certificate in Contraception

Nurse Claire Keaney
Claire Keaney qualified from Cork University Hospital in 1991initally working in General nursing and Orthopaedic in Ireland. She expanded her professional experience overseas in New York working in Intensive Care.
Returning to Ireland in 2001 with a Diploma in Critical and Coronary Care Nurse Claire worked in Bon Secours Intensive Care Unit in Cork until 2007. Due to family re-location she moved to Sligo and joined the primary care team in Dormans Family Practice.

Diploma in Diabetes Management in Primary Care
Diploma in Cervical Screening
